Tooele County School District, in Utah, posts its substitute jobs through Frontline Absence Management (the system many subs still call Aesop). If you're on the sub list here, everything below is about that board: what shows up on it, how it's written, and what it takes to get the jobs you actually want.

Schools that post substitute jobs

We've seen postings from 26 sites in Tooele County School District. Exactly as they appear on the board, which matters if you filter by school name:

  • Anna Smith Elem.
  • Clarke N. Johnsen Jr. High
  • Community Learning Center
  • Copper Canyon Elementary
  • Deseret Peak High School
  • Dugway Schools
  • Grantsville Elementary
  • Grantsville High
  • Grantsville Jr. High
  • Middle Canyon Elementary
  • Northlake Elementary
  • Old Mill Elementary
  • Overlake Elementary
  • Rose Springs Elementary
  • Settlement Canyon Elementary
  • Stansbury High
  • Stansbury Jr High
  • Stansbury Park Elementary
  • Sterling Elementary
  • Tooele High
  • Tooele Jr. High
  • Twenty Wells Elementary
  • Vernon Elementary
  • Wendover High
  • West Elementary
  • Willow Elementary

Spelling on the board is what counts. A district that writes “ELEM” instead of “Elementary”, or lists a campus under a classified-staff name, will trip up any filter that expects the official name. Copy the names above when you set preferences anywhere.

How Tooele County School District writes its postings

Every Frontline district writes its posting titles its own way: some put the grade in the title (“Grade 5”, “TK Teacher”), some only the subject, some only the teacher's name. Aide and assistant jobs share the board with teaching jobs, and special-education jobs are labeled with whichever abbreviation the district settled on years ago. Spend a week reading titles on the Tooele County School District board before you decide what to filter on.

When jobs post in Tooele County School District

Postings here are spread across the day. Of the 32 postings we've tracked in Tooele County School District, about 31% first appeared between 4 and 8 AM local time, 41% during the school day, and 28% in the evening or overnight. The single busiest hour was around 7 AM.

91% of those postings were full-day jobs (six hours or more). 66% started by 8 AM. 3% were multi-day assignments.

These numbers come from postings Sub Concierge watched for its members in this district. They describe what we saw, not every job the district ever posted, and they shift with the season.

How to get the jobs you want here

  • Get on the preferred lists. Teachers in Tooele County School District can name preferred subs, and preferred subs see a posting before the rest of the list does. A short note to a teacher after a good day is the highest-return thing you can do.
  • Know the board's spelling. School names and titles above are how the district actually writes them. Filters and alerts that don't match the spelling silently miss jobs.
  • Decide your rules once. Which schools, which grades, full-day only or not, how much notice you need. Subs who decide in advance say yes in seconds; subs who decide per posting lose the race.
  • Cancel cleanly. Frontline tracks cancellations, and districts notice. Take fewer jobs and keep them.
