Osceola County School District, in Florida, posts its substitute jobs through Frontline Absence Management (the system many subs still call Aesop). If you're on the sub list here, everything below is about that board: what shows up on it, how it's written, and what it takes to get the jobs you actually want.

Schools that post substitute jobs

We've seen postings from 13 sites in Osceola County School District. Exactly as they appear on the board, which matters if you filter by school name:

  • Boggy Creek ELEM
  • Canoe Creek K8
  • Cross Prairie K-8
  • Cypress ELEM
  • Flora Ridge ELEM
  • Hickory Tree ELEM
  • Highlands ELEM
  • Kissimmee ELEM
  • Lakeview ELEM
  • Michigan Ave ELEM
  • Neptune ELEM
  • Partin Settlement ES
  • St. Cloud ELEM

Spelling on the board is what counts. A district that writes “ELEM” instead of “Elementary”, or lists a campus under a classified-staff name, will trip up any filter that expects the official name. Copy the names above when you set preferences anywhere.

How Osceola County School District writes its postings

Postings here look like this (real titles from the board, teacher names removed):

  • LIB/MED SPEC-E
  • PARAPRO, ESE AGES 6-21
  • PARAPROFESSIONAL, PK
  • PARAPROFESSIONAL_ ELEM
  • PARAPRO_ ESE AGES 3-5
  • PARAPRO_ ESE AGES 6-21
  • TEACHER, FIRST
  • TEACHER, FOURTH
  • TEACHER, KG
  • TEACHER, LANG AR-M/J
  • TEACHER, PK HDC
  • TEACHER, SECOND

Grade level is not always in the title, so open a posting before assuming the age group. Special-education jobs are labeled, but the label varies (SPED, Sp. Ed, SAI, SDC, ESE). If you want to include or avoid them, know every spelling this district uses.

When jobs post in Osceola County School District

Postings here are spread across the day. Of the 23 postings we've tracked in Osceola County School District, about 4% first appeared between 4 and 8 AM local time, 65% during the school day, and 30% in the evening or overnight. The single busiest hour was around 1 PM.

96% of those postings were full-day jobs (six hours or more). 39% started by 8 AM. 4% were multi-day assignments.

These numbers come from postings Sub Concierge watched for its members in this district. They describe what we saw, not every job the district ever posted, and they shift with the season.

How to get the jobs you want here

  • Get on the preferred lists. Teachers in Osceola County School District can name preferred subs, and preferred subs see a posting before the rest of the list does. A short note to a teacher after a good day is the highest-return thing you can do.
  • Know the board's spelling. School names and titles above are how the district actually writes them. Filters and alerts that don't match the spelling silently miss jobs.
  • Decide your rules once. Which schools, which grades, full-day only or not, how much notice you need. Subs who decide in advance say yes in seconds; subs who decide per posting lose the race.
  • Cancel cleanly. Frontline tracks cancellations, and districts notice. Take fewer jobs and keep them.
